RF Spectrum Analysis for Wireless Communications introduces the fundamental principles of radio frequency (RF) signals and how they are analyzed using a spectrum analyzer. The course provides participants with a practical understanding of how wireless communication systems use the radio spectrum. Participants will learn the basic concepts of wireless communications, the electromagnetic spectrum, and the generation and transmission of electromagnetic waves. The training explains how different wireless technologies produce unique spectral signatures that can be observed and interpreted using spectrum analysis tools. Through guided demonstrations and hands-on exercises using a spectrum analyzer simulator, participants will learn how to identify and analyze signals from common wireless technologies, including GSM, UMTS, LTE, 5G NR, WiFi, and Bluetooth. The course also introduces fundamental RF signal types, such as continuous-wave (CW), pulse, noise, and RF interference, including jammers.
