About the event
The deployment of 5G networks is way more complex than 4G/LTE as it will bring forth more stringent requirements for speed, latency, and bandwidth while mandating the deployment of a lot more optical fiber and small cells.
The success of 5G mobile networks is critically dependent on ensuring proper fiber infrastructure installation and maintenance as well as radio frequency (RF) signal quality.
Most 5G new radio (5G NR) deployments are in the 3.5 GHz and 28 - 29 GHz frequency ranges.
Both of these frequency ranges are new to cellular networks and require adjustments in radio access techniques and test methodologies necessary to validate the operation and performance of 5G NR.
These adjustments can be significant when compared to 4G whenever technologies such as beamforming and massive MIMO come into play.
This webinar touches on fiber testing for 5G fronthaul network and the unique challenges brought by 5G NR. Best practices are also covered, such as testing TDD interference for 5G NR to ensure beams are being transmitted accurately to achieve performance metrics.
Key takeaways:
- 5G vs. LTE, understand the evolution and what matters
- Current status of 5G NR technology
- 5G beam management process and how to verify proper operation
- Best practices for validating 5G NR and troubleshooting RF interference in 5G TDD systems
