The session introduces In-Building Solutions (IBS) as the discipline of delivering reliable indoor coverage and capacity where macro networks struggle.

Core IBS approaches are discussed like DAS, small cells, and repeaters -focusing on when each approach makes sense and what trade-offs appear in real buildings.

A practical indoor assessment method is explained, covering what to check in a building walkthrough: user density patterns, weak zones, building layout and materials, typical interference sources, and where capacity demand usually concentrates.

Coverage and capacity are treated as separate indoor problems, showing why “adding signal” may not solve performance if the building is capacity-limited.

The session ends with a clear career map of IBS work: survey and audit roles, design and planning roles, implementation and integration roles, and testing/optimization roles.
