Service Description

This workshop is a practical, operations-focused introduction to how an Intelligent City is built and managed using connected infrastructure, real-time data, and coordinated decision-making. We will decompose the Intelligent City architecture into three components that professionals actually work with: data, networks, and operations. You’ll see how city systems collect information from field devices, transmit it over reliable connectivity, and translate it into actions through dashboards, alerts, and response workflows. A key focus is the role of Intelligent Poles as smart-city components, including their deployment as hubs for sensors, cameras, connectivity equipment, and edge devices that support safety, mobility, and public services. For Smart Energy, we focus on the practical building blocks: smart meters, sensors, and energy data, and how these enable monitoring, reporting, demand visibility, and operational decisions. We will also discuss how legal compliances and engineering decisions shape energy efficiency and savings, including how requirements influence system design, data handling, and operational controls. The goal is to help you understand what “good” looks like when planning or evaluating smart energy initiatives, especially when balancing performance, cost, and compliance. For Command & Control, we shift to the operations center view. You’ll learn how system integration brings multiple city and energy subsystems into one operational picture, and how the command center uses alerts, KPIs, and incident workflows to coordinate response and decision-making. We’ll cover the logic of end-to-end system integration: what needs to connect, what data must be consistent, how events become actionable alerts, and how incidents should flow from detection to escalation to resolution. Finally, we connect everything with 5G and IoT and explain, in practical terms, how modern wireless telecom enables Intelligent City deployments. This includes how 5G and IoT support wide-area connectivity, scalable sensor rollouts, and real-time telemetry that feeds both intelligent energy and command center operations. By the end, you’ll have a clear mental model of how the parts fit together and how to communicate requirements and expectations with vendors, integrators, and stakeholders.
